Ingredients

Sauce

  • 2 tbsp Tamari Soy Sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Shaoxing wine or sake
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sugar

Noodles

  • ½ lb. boneless skinless chicken breast thinly sliced
  • 12 oz chow mein noodles uncooked
  • 1 cup carrot julienned
  • 2 cups cabbage finely shredded
  • ½ red bell pepper finely sliced
  • 1 cup bean sprouts optional
  • 1 scallion chopped
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

Directions

  • In a small bowl, mix the sauce ingredients.
  • Marinate chicken with 1 tablespoon of the sauce for about 10 minutes.
  • Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions.
  • Heat cooking oil in a wok or a large pan over medium high heat.
  • Cook chicken strips until golden brown. Remove from pan, set aside.
  • Sauté carrots, cabbage, and red bell pepper for a few minutes until softened.
  • Add chicken and noodles. Pour sauce over and stir fry for about 1 minute.
  • Add scallions and bean sprouts (optional), toss for about 30 seconds.
  • Serve immediately.
