- PIE:
- 1/3 cup Bittersweet chocolate chips
- 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
- 2 teaspoons San-J Tamari Soy Sauce
- 4 Large eggs
- ¾ cup Maple syrup
- ½ cup Light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
- 1 9-inch Unbaked gluten free pie crust
- 1½ cups Pecan halves
- WHIPPED CREAM:
- 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
- 3 tablespoons Powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon San-J Tamari Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave for 1 minute or until melted. Stir in 2 teaspoons tamari and let cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in the chocolate mixture.
- Pour the mixture into the pie crust and top with the pecan halves. Place the pie pan on a baking sheet and bake for 45 – 55 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely.
- Whip the cream with the powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon tamari and 1 teaspoon vanilla until soft peaks form. Serve with the pie.
