Cookouts

Ingredients

  • 4 5-to-7- ounce salmon fillets
  • ½ cup San-J Teriyaki Sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar

Directions

  • Place the salmon fillets in a shallow glass or other non-reactive bowl and pour the San-J Teriyaki Sauce over the fillets. Turn the fillets to coat each side with the sauce. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 4 hours.
  • Preheat in indoor or outdoor grill to medium heat. Lightly oil the grids of the grill. Remove the salmon from the marinade and pat each fillet dry with paper towels. Reserve the marinade.
  • To prepare the sauce, pour the reserved marinade into a small saucepan and add the sugar. Heat and stir over medium-high heat until the sugar has dissolved and the San-J Teriyaki Sauce has thickened.
  • Grill the salmon for about 4 minutes. Baste the salmon with the marinade sauce as it grills. Turn each fillet and grill for 4 minutes, basting again with sauce and watching carefully to avoid overcooking the fish. The marinade sauce will lightly caramelize as the fillets grill.
