Ingredients

  • PIE:
  • 1/3 cup Bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2 teaspoons San-J Tamari Soy Sauce
  • 4 Large eggs
  • ¾ cup Maple syrup
  • ½ cup Light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 1 9-inch Unbaked gluten free pie crust
  • cups Pecan halves
  • WHIPPED CREAM:
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream
  • 3 tablespoons Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon San-J Tamari Soy Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 
  • Combine the chocolate chips and butter in a microwave-safe dish. Microwave for 1 minute or until melted. Stir in 2 teaspoons tamari and let cool slightly.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, maple syrup, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in the chocolate mixture.
  • Pour the mixture into the pie crust and top with the pecan halves. Place the pie pan on a baking sheet and bake for 45 – 55 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. Let cool completely.
  • Whip the cream with the powdered sugar, 1 teaspoon tamari and 1 teaspoon vanilla until soft peaks form. Serve with the pie.
