Think of tteokbokki as a unique Korean comfort food that functions like pasta (chewy shapes in sauce) but delivers a distinct, chewy rice texture, making it a category of its own.
The name means “stir-fried rice cake” (tteok for rice cake, bokki for stir-fried).
